A 1950s bombshell and highly stylized linen cocktail dress by sought after American designer Peggy Hunt. This dress has her captivating illusion neckline in an off white* hourglass silhouette, the dramatic neckline is a perfect example of Peggy's brilliance. The bodice has a stunning cap-sleeve illusion with lace appliqués detailing, sweetheart neckline with 'bullet' style bodice. The silhouette is classic pin-up femme fatale with a buxom bust line and snitched waistline with matching sash. The back has a v shaped with metal zipper and hook/eye closure. The skirt has a stylish kick pleat. Today's garments do not have this level of workmanship and this beauty is a timeless classic for any event. Truly a stylish femme fatale silhouette!

Starting in the 1930s through the early 1960s, Peggy Hunt was vastly successful with her iconic cocktail and evening dresses. Her designs were often worn by Hollywood starlets such as Lucille Ball, Bette Davis, Lana Turner and Marlene Dietrich. Peggy is best known as the creator of what came to be known as 'The Illusion Neckline' adorned with lace or appliqués.

Condition: Excellent vintage condition, small light spot on lace on a point of one leaf. Very small pin holes on the back of the sheer fabric near back closure. Very tiny but I am noting as full disclosure. Please see images.
