This beautiful 50s taffeta gown by Jean Allen is an iconic statement piece. In a stunning fuschia hue, the gown softly flares from the waist with box pleating and is an elegant choice for any occasion. The bodice is bonded with a sweetheart neckline that is accented with a top layer with straps and a v-shaped silhouette. The bodice is accented with a bow that wraps around the bust line. A built-in crinoline provides volume and support for the skirt. Back zipper with hook/eye closures.
Jean Allen was a London model house, much like Frank Usher, Susan Small. They made formal dresses for reasonable prices, a popular type of company which emerged in the 1950s.

Condition: Good vintage condition, mending on the seams were the pleats meet the bodice. Light underarm discoloration due to wear and age. A spot on the skirt -- please see pictures. Kindly note, zipper works, my dress form is larger than a 32 bust.
